On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Aotearoa Tamil (ATI) hosted the highly successful “Tamil Language Festival 2024” (#TLF24) at a vibrant venue in Aotearoa. The event was a true celebration of Tamil language and culture, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to enjoy a day filled with music, dance, art, and community engagement.

The festival began with a heartfelt Karakia, setting a positive and inclusive tone for the day. This was followed by an array of captivating performances that showcased the richness and diversity of Tamil culture. The audience was treated to a spectacular Lion dance and a mesmerizing Spanish dance, both of which honored the multicultural spirit of the event.
Children were particularly thrilled with the magic show, which proved to be a hit among the young attendees. The Lion dance also captured the hearts of many, with its energetic and vibrant display of traditional Chinese dance.
ATI’s Tamil Game was another highlight of the festival, with participants eagerly participating in the interactive and engaging game. The game was a testament to ATI’s commitment to promoting Tamil language and culture in a fun and accessible way.
The event also provided a platform for young artists to showcase their talent, with 20 young artists exhibiting their artwork to the crowd. The Art drive received overwhelming support from the audience, with many expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate and support local talent.
ATI have provided an opportunity for the audience to proudly print the art work on a T-shirt or a hoodie right from our Web Store.
Overall, the Tamil Language Festival 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate Tamil language and culture. The event was a testament to ATI’s commitment to promoting Tamil language and culture in Aotearoa, and we look forward to continuing this important work in the years to come.
